Is the cat 6 suitable for poe applications ?

Yes you can use Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable for PoE (power over ethernet). For reliable performance make sure you network cable is a good quality copper cable as some cheaper network cables with copper or steel clad (CCA or CCS) conductors may cause issues with PoE applications.
